Can I opt out of the migration?
No, we are preparing for a sunset of the FirmPlus software following the June 30, 2025 reporting period. We are processing the migration in waves based on feature usage parity with our Fiduciary Focus Toolkit solution. Should you have a specific functionality that you need to continue using, and is not yet available in the Toolkit, please let your Relationship Manager (andrew.dick@broadridge.com) know
Is the LPL 12 point available in Toolkit?
Yes, the 12 point is already available and fully integrated with the entirety of the platform. Please see the video sections for details.
What is notably different in the Toolkit?
- Plan Holdings Integration and syncing
- Automation and bulk capabilities
- Convergence of wealth and retirement
- Expanded access to multiple investment scoring options
- Enhanced report branding and customization
- New report sections and content
- Faster, more comprehensive access to investment data after quarter-end
- Historical quarter over quarter plan holdings tracking
- The Passive scoring methodology in Toolkit calculates any peer group ranking (such as 1yr return above median) against all funds in that peer group, not just the passive funds. Ongoing discussions with the LPL home office continue on the long terms needs.
- TDF series level scoring is not currently available in Toolkit, but on the roadmap
Is the Vault available in the Toolkit?
Yes, it is currently available in the Toolkit. After thorough consideration aimed at streamlining our services and focusing on enhanced features, we have made several updates to our vault functionalities when comparing FiRM to the Toolkit.
What’s staying the same
- There is a document vault accessible within each plan record.
- You can upload a single file to the vault.
- You can download a single file from the vault.
- You can see all of the files within the vault.
- You can push a single PDF report generated in the software to the plan’s vault
- You and any of your staff with user licenses can access any plan’s vault.
What’s new that you couldn’t do before
- All plan monitoring reports are automatically stored historically by quarter and accessible to view, download and even re-run using historical investment data
- Performance and speed of the interactions with the vault are significantly faster.
- You can download some or all files in a plan, not just selected files in a folder.
- You can upload many files at once into a plan, not just a single file.
- You can tag files by Type and Monitoring Qtr End for easy filtering and searching.
- You can upload additional file types such as ZIP files
- You can upload files with special characters in the file name.
- You can search for files by name.
- You can recover accidently deleted files.
What’s not supported at this time but may be considered in a future release
-
We have removed the tab and folder structures within a plan’s vault.
- Those features created complexities for searching and uploading/downloading documents so we now support a single folder which can be efficiently searched and filtered by tags, dates and file names.
- There is no method for a plan sponsor to login and access their vault directly today, but this feature is coming by 9/30/2025.
-
There is no method to email files directly from the vault to the plan sponsor.
- For reports generated from our software, you can use our Webhook utility to have these reports automatically emailed to yourself/supervisors or your clients. These emails are sent through your own email accounts but automated via our Webhook APIs. More details on this can be found here.
- You can always download a file and email it from your own computer as well.
-
There is no firm level vault folder that sits outside of a plan
- Custom report sections can be created if you want to include any of this content with your ongoing monitoring reports.
How will documents be migrated from FiRM to Toolkit
- Document Backup from FiRM: Please ensure to download and securely store any important documents from the current Vault Portal before 6/30/2025. As part of the migration, we will provide you access to a master ZIP file containing all plan vaults and their underlying documents. This will be accessed via a separate temporary ShareFile login which will provided to you.
- Document Upload into Toolkit: Using the temporary ShareFile login, you will be to access all files from within a given plan and then chose to upload some (or all) of those to the plan in toolkit via a single batch upload. There is currently no way to do this upload across all plans. We can help with the uploads.
- Client Communication: Inform your clients about this change and provide them with alternative methods for document exchange.
- Document Management Training: Take advantage of our training sessions to familiarize yourself with the new Vault feature in Fiduciary Focus Toolkit.
